Why Memory Foam
Memory foam was first developed for use in the NASA space program, in the hope that its ability to evenly distribute pressure would help combat the effects of "G" forces. Although it was never used for this purpose it was seen as an ideal solution to relieve pressure sores which a number of bed-bound hospital patients suffer from. As this foam was initially too expensive for general use it was always thought of as a medical application. In recent years 'Visco Elastic' has become less costly to produce and is now widely available in a number of forms including mattresses, toppers and support cushions.
Memory foam works with your own body heat and moulds to your individual body contours, offering a great deal more support and actual contact with the mattress. This can not only help eliminate back pain, but also helps reduce the amount of tossing and turning resulting in a better night's sleep.
